Stantec, formerly Cox | McClain Environmental Consulting, was selected to complete the resurvey of the Lake Leatherwood City Park National Register Historic District. Cox | McClain was founded in Austin, Texas in 2007, and established a reputation as a leading environmental and cultural resource management consulting firms in the region. In January 2022, the firm joined Stantec Consulting Services Inc., expanding their team of resource management professionals to include designers, engineers, and scientists around the United States.
Stantec’s experience with historic preservation projects in Arkansas set them apart from other firms. They’ve completed projects such as the survey for the City of Conway commercial district, survey of the Country Club Colony and Retta Brown subdivisions for the City of El Dorado, resurvey of the Belle Grove National Register Historic District in Fort Smith, architectural resurvey of the Hillcrest National Register Historic District neighborhood, and an architectural survey, oral histories, and National Register nomination for the University Park North Subdivision in Little Rock.
The firm will begin work on the project in August.
